Notification of crescent (new moon) of Shavaal 1427


With the latest calculations made; observance of the crescent of the month of Shavaal is possible with unarmed eyes in Iran and its neighbor countries on the condition of fine weather, at the sunset of Tuesday October 24, 2006, 30 Ramadan1427
Researching on the position of the crescent in 46 cities of the world, from East Australia to White Horse in West Canada, because of the Moons orbit position, Observance of crescent of the holy month of Shavaal 1427 with unarmed eyes is possible in the South Hemisphere, South East Asia and all the parts of the world that are located near the Equator in the north Hemisphere, at the sunset of Monday October 23, 2006, 29 Ramadan1427 on the condition of fine weather at local time
But in the North and Middle of Iran and neighbor countries because of the low altitude of the crescent and its short time of pause after the sunset, observance is impossible with unarmed eyes
Some of the connoisseur groups have claimed that can observe the crescent at the sunset of Monday October 23, 2006, 29 Ramadan 1427 in the Middle and South areas of Iran and North parts of the Persian Gulf with binoculars and telescopes; but authentication of their work will be pended for after checking and studying their report
Anyway according to our reports and experience in the past years based on observance of the crescent, and specially observance of the crescent of the first of the Holy Ramadan of this year, the crescent in Iran can not bee observed at the sunset of Monday October 23, 2006, 29 Ramadan1427 without armed eyes and only some reports on observance of the crescent has been reported that ware observed with telescope by connoisseur observers in some areas in the South of Iran and the south marginal countries of the Persian Gulf
Also note that, the moon in its ninth rotation around the earth on 1427 known as Ramadan, on Sunday October 22, 2006, 28 Ramadan1427 at 08:46 is in range with the sun and is called going to wane (Mohaagh) and at 10:33 in the same day, goes out of the reach of the light beam



The specifications of the crescent in the holy city of Qom are as follow



A- Monday October 23, 2006, 29 Ramadan1427
Altitude of the crescent: 3o 39, Shining of the crescent: 1/72%, Age of the crescent: 1/36 days, Direction of the crescent: 241o 47, Direction difference with the Sun: 14o 45, and the max. Pause of the crescent after the sunset: 23min



B- Tuesday October 24, 2006, 30 Ramadan1427
Altitude of the crescent: 9o 3, Shining of the crescent: 5/20%, Age of the crescent: 2/36 days, Direction of the crescent: 231o 28, Direction difference with the Sun: 24o 39, and the max. Pause of the crescent after the sunset: 58min


The crescent might appear with a high shine and in a high altitude, but this isn’t a reason for being observable in the past day in the mentioned areas above
